This workshop is timed for the peak color in Yosemite, when Yosemite Valley's maples, cottonwood, oak, and dogwood flash their best yellow and red, and the Merced River has slowed to a reflective ribbon splitting the valley. By autumn Yosemite's summer crowds are long gone, and the clouds have returned from their summer hiatus, adding character and drama to the sky (sometimes even depositing snow in and around Yosemite Valley).
