Beth Mancuso Wins Alpha Female+ Landscape Contest

For all of November creators entered their stunning landscape photography into the Alpha Female+ Landscape Photo Contest, and today we’re excited to announce the winner of the contest and a new Sony ZV-1 camera – Beth Mancuso (@intothewild.wego). Using the Sony Alpha α7 III, Mancuso captured this beautiful, wintry scene in Sand Dunes State Forest. Learn more about how she created it below, and submit your photos now into December’s Alpha Female+ Macro Photo Contest for your chance to be featured on alphauniverse.com and @sonyalphafemale, and to win a Sony ZV-1.

Photographer Beth Mancuso is the winner of the Alpha Female+ Landscape Photo Contest and a new Sony ZV-1.

“I shot this image at the Sand Dunes State Forest in Minnesota. The forest is really close to my home and it's my favorite place to visit after a fresh snowfall,” explains Mancuso.

“I really wanted to show how grand these trees are so I put on my widest lens, a 14mm. To help show the scale, I put myself in the frame by attaching my Sony α7 III to a tripod and using the built-in intervalometer. While I was there the wind was knocking the snow from the trees and it created the most magical snow globe scene. I wanted to recreate that feeling in my image, so I added a video effect to the still image. My camera settings were: 1/320-sec., f/9, ISO 250.”
