The Compact Alpha 7CR Travel Kit

Photographer and Sony Artisan Katrin Eismann (@katrin_eismann) loves to travel, but she doesn’t want to be weighed down by gear. That’s why she straps the compact and lightweight Sony Alpha 7CR and one of her fast primes – the Sony 24mm f/2.8 G and Sony 55mm f/1.8 – to her wrist so she can easily capture on the go. Learn more about her complete kit and read some of her travel photography tips in What’s In My Bag: A Compact Sony Alpha 7CR Kit For Street & Travel Photography.

The Ready-For-Anything Travel Kit

Kirsten Alana (@kirstenalana) is a travel photographer whose diverse interests, and wide-ranging client base, make it possible for her to shoot something different every week. Not everything in her bag comes with her on every trip because she’s forever searching for the perfect bag that could carry it all. When traveling, you’ll either find her using the Sony Alpha 7R IIISony Alpha 7R II or Sony RX1R II. She carries two G Master zooms, the Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 G Master and Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 G Master, along with the Sony 50mm f/1.8, which she calls a staple. If she really wants to pare down her weight and pack, she’ll instead bring along the compact and lightweight Sony 35mm f/2.8 and Sony 55mm f/1.8. Read more about her full travel kit and see some of her work in What's In My Bag: A Travel Photographer's Kit To Cover Something Different Each Week.

The Hybrid Travel Kit

Dylan Blackburn (@dylan.blackburn) is a travel photographer who focuses on photographing cityscapes, street photography with the occasional nature and landscape photos. He says his approach to photography and his camera bag is to be as minimalist as he possibly can. That’s why he recently upgraded to the Sony Alpha 7CR. He also brings along his Sony FX3 (although this one isn’t in his bag, typically alongside him on a tripod) to create his YouTube videos. He prefers to use compact prime lenses like the Sony 35mm f/1.8, Sony 24mm f/2.8 G and Sony 50mm f/2.5 G, but for video when he needs versatility, he reaches for the Sony 24-105mm f/4 G. Read more and see some of Blackburn’s travel photo and video work in What’s In My Bag: A 2-Camera, 4-Lens Kit For Travel Photography & YouTube Video Creation.

The Two-Camera Photo & Timelapse Travel Kit

Larry Ginyard (@roaminglarry) is a travel and landscape photographer based in the Washington, DC Metro Area. He chooses to use the Sony Alpha 7 IV for its versatility. He also packs the Sony Alpha 7C so he can create timelapses on his other camera while still taking images. “I roam a lot by road. In my travels, I have an idea of what I’m going to see based on my initial planning. However, I like spontaneous stops more than planned stops. Because of that, I tend to prefer zoom lenses. Zoom lenses ensure I’m ready for whatever new scene I discover.” His favorite zooms are the Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 G Master II and Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 G Master. Read more about the rest of his kit and see his work in What’s In My Bag: A Double Sony Alpha Camera Kit For Travel & Landscape Photography.

The APS-C Travel Kit

Lina Staudt (@lina.fotografiert) is on a journey to travel the world, taking authentic street photography shots along the way. She recently upgraded to the Sony Alpha 6700 and she’s been using it to capture both images and videos of her surroundings as she travels. When traveling, her favorite lens to bring along is the Sony 18-105 mm f/4 G because of the flexibility it offers her. For night shots or the occasional street portrait, she uses the Sony 85mm f/1.8. See her full kit and more of her work in What’s In My Bag: A Sony APS-C Kit For Travel & Street Photography.

The High-Quality Luxury Travel Kit

Andrew Macdonald (@a_mac_photo) is a photographer, filmmaker and storyteller. He makes content for the luxury travel industry and conservation projects, and specializes in creating tailor packages of high-quality imagery and promotional videos. That’s why you’ll find two of the top-line Sony Alpha 1 cameras in his kit. To capture behind-the-scenes footage of his travel adventures for his YouTube, he uses the lightweight Sony ZV-1. Because his work is so varied, he has a wide range of lenses – the Sony 16-35mm f/2.8 G Master, Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 G Master, Sony 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 G Master, Sony 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G, Sony 400mm f/2.8 G Master and Sony 1.4X Teleconverter. The Super-Simple Content Creation Travel Kit

Nadine Sykora (@heynadine) is a travel content creator who travels the world and shares her experiences and travel expertise through long and short form videos, and photos on social media. As someone who travels a lot and appreciates a small kit, she packs the Sony Alpha 7C in her bag. Along with that she has two zooms: the Sony 24-70mm f/4 for its small size and general purpose focal range, and the Sony 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 G Master for its focal range and stunningly sharp image quality. Read more about what she uses to create content on the go in What's In My Bag: See This Travel Content Creator's Super-Simple, Full-Frame Sony Alpha Kit.

The Travel & Wildlife Kit

Justin Niu (@TrekRoveris a passionate travel and wildlife photographer. When traveling, he likes to have both the Sony Alpha 1 and Sony Alpha 7R V so he doesn’t miss a single detail. He also has three G Master lenses to cover a wide range – the Sony 12-24mm f/2.8 G Master, Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 G Master II and Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 G Master II. When he wants to get the sharpest up-close shots, he’ll pull out the Sony 600mm f/4 G Master and Sony 2x Teleconverter. Read more about his entire kit and see some of his imagery in What’s In My Bag: 2 Sony Alpha Cameras & 4 G Master Lenses For Traveling The World.

The Lightweight Luxury Travel Kit

Beata Bogdanova (@beeoncloud9) is a luxury travel content creator who partners with luxury hotels, tourism boards and other brands to create photos and videos that she shares on Instagram and her wildly popular travel blog. She uses the Sony Alpha 7 III as her main camera which she calls a great all-rounder with powerful capabilities. “During my travels I like to keep it minimal and lightweight therefore I carry only two prime lenses. Although I have been tempted to buy a zoom lens I must say that having only fixed focal length lenses taught me a lot about composition and finding better angles. I also love my prime lenses for their wide aperture which allows me to create a beautiful bokeh or shoot in low light.” The primes you’ll always find in her kit? The sharp Sony 24mm f/1.4 G Master and Sony 50mm f/1.8. See her complete kit and check out more of her work in What’s In My Bag: A Content Creator's Lightweight Kit For Luxury Travel.

The G Master Trinity Travel Kit

Benjamin Trickey (@benjamin.trickey) is a landscape, adventure and travel photographer based in Australia. He uses the Sony Alpha 7R IV camera along with the classic G Master zoom trinity – the Sony 16-35mm f/2.8 G Master, Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 G Master and Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 G Master. “I went for an all G Master lens setup as the sharpness and quality of image is unmatched. This is very important for me as I print lots of my images large for clients and galleries, so a quality lens and camera setup is essential.” See more of of his work and read why he packs what he does in What’s In My Bag: A Sony Alpha + Classic G Master Zoom Trinity For Landscape, Adventure & Travel.
