Julia Trotti

Julia Trotti is a portrait photographer based in Sydney, Australia. In her photography, she is known for her strong composition and intense posing. Her YouTube channel is known for gear reviews and comparisons, tutorials, and behind the scenes vlogs. From editing to posing to technical settings – her channel is a one stop shop for tips and advice! 

In the video below, she shares her top composition tips for shooting portraits with the Sony 24mm f/1.4 G Master. She walks you through a shoot while describing the tips. Chris Turner

Chris Turner is a full-time wedding photographer based in Auckland, New Zealand. After photographing more than 200 weddings, Turner knows a thing or two about it. And he’s sharing that knowledge with the world via his YouTube channel. Turner takes his audience along on shoots, in the editing room, and gives practical advice. He was recently going through his archive of images and found that he typically shoots heavily center-weighted and primarily with a wide angle lens: the Sony 24mm f/1.4 G Master.  

He says at weddings, he shoots about 90% of his images with this lens. “I call it my storytelling lens.” he states, “One of the good things about the 24mm, is that you can get close to your subjects and still show a lot in the frame.” Learn more about why he loves this lens and the lessons he’s learned using it so much in the video below.

Lizzie Peirce

Lizzie Peirce is a Toronto-based content creator with a specialty in travel based content. She creates videos ranging from short films to educational photography and video tutorials. She aims to inspire young creatives to start their own creative endeavors by providing them with the tips and tools to do so. And with over 250K subscribers, we would say she’s certainly inspiring many people out there! 

In the video below, Lizzie decides to play around with making some self portraits. She decorates an area of her bedroom and sets up her Sony Alpha 7 III and Sony 24mm f/1.4 G Master for the shoot. She uses the Imaging Edge mobile app to connect her camera to her phone. She even takes you into her Lightroom and shows you how she edits the images. It’s great to see the finite details of her edit and how she makes an image from setup to editing.

Mike Will

Mike Will, also known as @m.visuals is a creative photographer known for his vibrant urban style. He is based in London, UK but travels all over the world to create content and energetic brand campaigns, his portfolio includes night cityscapes, travel, landscapes, music festivals and portraits. He shares videos on TikTok and YouTube. On his YouTube, he shares everything from photography gear reviews, POV with tips and tricks, to vlogs around the world. Following Will on TikTok feels like you’re just his pal, going on adventures with him. 

In the video below, Mike is on location for a portrait shoot with the Sony 14mm f/1.8 G Master. He pairs this lens with the Sony Alpha 7 IV. For this shoot, they were going for a cyberpunk look so they used interesting places around London and this super wide angle lens to achieve that vision. We love the way he uses perspective to tell a story with the shots. Take a look for some creative ideas!

Maciej Suwalowski

Maciej Suwalowski, also known as ‘Magic’ is a wedding photographer and educator based in Warsaw, Poland. He is also Sony Europe Imaging Ambassador and a co-founder of Boring Workshop - the biggest conference for wedding photographers in Poland. On his YouTube channel, he shares knowledge about wedding photography, Sony cameras and lenses, workflow and tech stuff.  

In the video below, he has just gotten his hands on the Sony 14mm f/1.8 G Master and he shares first impressions. In addition, he uses the lens to shoot portraits with the Sony Alpha 7R IV. It’s great to see example shots and how he uses the ultra-wide angle for unique perspectives on portraits. He also touches on the other uses for this lens including astrophotography, interior architecture and landscapes.
