Sea Legacy Founders Cristina Mittermeier and Paul Nicklen have made it their life mission to amplify the issues facing our planet through their photography and filmmaking. The new tech in Sony’s Alpha 1 camera, like the 50.1-megapixel sensor and 8K high-resolution movie shooting, will help them bring those stories to viewers like never before. In this video, go behind the scenes as the two Sony Artisans share how the Alpha 1 will allow them to focus on telling stories that matter.
Sea Legacy Founders Cristina Mittermeier & Paul Nicklen explore how the new Sony Alpha 1 will help them tell meaningful stories.
“There’s only one thing out there that really matters,” says Nicklen, “and it’s the moment. And with wildlife and nature it’s almost always a situation that you’re never going to see again. If I can shoot 8K and shoot a 50MP camera in a box that’s ‘this big.’ All I have to do is go off and be an artist.”
“It’s insane what this camera can do,” says Mittermeier. “It’s going to feel really intuitive. It’s going to feel like a continuation of the cameras that I’ve been working with. To me that’s the most important thing. I want it to be an extension of my creative mind and that’s exactly what it is.”
