Francisco Joel Hernandez – @fjhphoto

Francisco is a photographer and his major focus is on portraiture. What we really love about his account is that he provides a lot of insight into his lighting and photographing techniques through his behind-the-scenes footage and captions. (He also has a YouTube channel which is loaded with great how-to tutorials and techniques.) His Sony Alpha camera of choice for his portraits? The Sony α7R III – which, combined with the Sony 85mm f/1.4 G Master, is what he used to capture this portrait with beautiful bokeh below. Gary Hart is a Northern California-based photographer, writer, teacher and a Sony Artisan of Imagery. He captures the most magnificent landscapes and astroscapes that you’ll find as you’ll scroll through his account. He uses natural light to show us the natural world in all its glory. His unique perspectives and his takes on depth and motion make his landscapes stand out from the rest. The photo below was taken with the Sony α7R III.

Hart is a true professional who has worked to hone his craft and techniques. While some photographers “spray and pray” to get the right exposure for a shot like this one, Hart is more thoughtful. See his method for getting the perfect exposure in camera this article.

View this post on Instagram Crimson Morning, Lake Wanaka, New Zealand || I’m convinced that people forget how vivid color can be in nature. Whether it’s a field of sunlit poppies, a stand of aspen in autumn, or a crimson New Zealand sunrise, there really is nothing subtle about nature’s color. Sadly, that fact doesn’t stop cynics from uttering “That’s so fake” whenever they see an image with vivid color. Of course dating all the way back to the pumped hues of Fuji Velvia color slide film, photographers can accept some responsibility for this. But that doesn’t change the fact that sometimes brilliant color in an image really was that brilliant. Which is why I was happy to have the rest of the workshop group present at Lake Wanaka to witness (and verify) this sunrise last July. Nevertheless, for credibility, when I processed this image I actually dialed the saturation back a bit.
