Join us this Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. ET / 3:00 p.m. PT for a live AMA with creator Ryan Ditch in the Alpha Universe Community Forum. Ryan is a San Diego-based landscape and commercial photographer who is deeply passionate about community and education. “My career is kind of going in the direction of community,” he says. “I am a huge community person, I don’t believe any of us get anywhere without friends, family and colleagues.” He runs a hub called “Cali Shooters,” that puts on bi-monthly events for photographers to shoot, get to know each other, and try out different gear and techniques.
Ryan even says he chose to switch to Sony because of what he calls their “X factor,” – community. “Their engagement on Instagram, the Sony Alpha Universe articles. The presence in the community that Sony has over Canon. Sony is the leader in community, they have their foot completely in with their community on the ground level.” You can read more about his switch in For This Creator, Switching To Sony Came Down To Community.
For Ryan’s work, he goes for maximum resolution, and for him that’s currently the Sony Alpha 7R V. “The Alpha 7R V maintains the 61MP and incredible resolution, but adds a new build with deeper grip resulting in better ergonomics. Plus, the new 4-Axis Multi-Angle LCD allows me to stay in view of my composition while creating in tight and unique positions. Lastly, my favorite new feature is auto focus bracketing–this has been an absolute game changer for me.” Learn more about his complete kit in What’s In My Bag: A New Camera + A Trio Of Zooms For Urban & Natural Landscapes.
If you would like to ask a question ahead of the event, post it in this thread and our forum moderators will make sure that they’re posted for Ryan to answer during the event. Hope to see you there!
