See How These Creators Find Artistic Expression Through Architecture Photography

Architecture photography holds plenty of room for artistic expression. The craft blends artistry and precision in a dance of light, shadow, symmetry and structure. It offers visual storytellers the opportunity to interpret human ingenuity in building form, capturing it from various perspectives and angles, each of which show a different side to the narrative. We're featuring a group of creators who are transforming static structures into dynamic photographic art. Whether you're a seasoned photographer or a beginner seeking new avenues for exploration, follow these photographers for a jumpstart on your architecture photography journey. Tag your shots with #SonyAlpha for your chance to be featured.

We're featuring a group of creators who are transforming static structures into dynamic photographic art.

Gregg Jaden – @greggjaden_

Photographer and Sony Brand Ambassador Gregg Jaden snagged this incredible shot in Bangkok, Thailand from the rooftop of a building nearby. He says he used the Sony Alpha 7R III and Sony 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 G Master combination because it allowed him to capture the best design feature of the structure. “What makes this moment so unique is capturing the right angle I wanted for the unconventional design of the glass curtain-walled square tower with a cuboid-surfaced helix cut into the side of the building. It is recognized as one of the tallest buildings in Thailand and stands 77 floors high.”

Tobi Shinobi – @tobishinobi

Tobi Shinobi is a photographer, videographer and Sony Brand Ambassador currently based in Chicago. Tobi’s work maintains a high focus on detail, perspective, geometry and symmetry. He specializes in finding beauty in the often gritty urban landscapes and has a distinct appreciation for stunning architecture. Here he shares an image he captured of the cool architecture he found in Madrid – his way of finding a unique perspective makes him a must-follow.

Allison Anderson – @photoallison

Allison Anderson is travel content creator and Sony Brand Ambassador. She creates YouTube vlogs of her travels and as a photographer, also posts the images she captures along the way. She photographs a city from a variety of angles, compositions and focal lengths to give an interesting snapshot of the location. Swipe through the gallery of images she posted below to see some of the various architecture in the city of Taipei.

Tiffany Nguyen – @tiffpenguin

Tiffany Nguyen is a photographer, videographer and Sony Brand Ambassador. She’s based in Los Angeles, but most of her imagery is created while on travel adventures. In the post below, she shares a series of images taken from a unique building in Singapore. Quickly swipe through to see fellow Sony Brand Ambassador Kyle Huber (@asenseofhuber) move up and down the levels of the building. We just love what our creator community comes up with!

Quay Hu – @aroundq

Quay Hu is a photographer and Sony Brand Ambassador who creates a wide variety of compelling imagery. Landscapes, cityscapes, nature, architecture – you’ll find a little bit of everything on his account. He captured the beautiful building shot below in New York City using his Sony Alpha 7R III and Sony 16-35mm f/2.8 G Master.

Amy Corcoran – @amygadabout

Amy Corcoran is a Seattle-based photographer and video creator. She captured this night shot of the city’s famous Space Needle with her Sony Alpha 7R III and Sony 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 G Master. “I love city lights, so I shoot at night whenever I get the chance. Most important things for my night shots: a tripod, longer shutter speed, low ISO, and shooting in RAW for more control over elements like lighting and shadows during editing — which are essential for night photography.” Follow her for more colorful scenes in your feed.

@makoo_films

@makoo_films is a creator specializing in night photography. Currently based in Tokyo, you’ll see many of his images featuring the city’s glowing skyline as you scroll through his work. His artistic capture of cityscapes and architecture makes his images a lot of fun to look through. Get a glimpse in the image he captured below that includes the Tokyo Skytree – taken with his Sony Alpha 7R V and Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 G Master

Rishi Tendulkar – @mr.tendulkar

Rishi Tendulkar is a travel photographer whose goal is to explore and share one place at a time. As you scroll through his images, you can see he’s captured beautifully unique scenes from the many locations he’s been to. He took the images below in India with his Sony Alpha 7R II and explains, “Hawa Mahal, India built in 1700s is epitome of Jaali (net). A delicately perforated stone or latticed screen, allowing cool air to pass through while acting as a privacy screen. You find these intricate windows across all the medival [sic] old forts and palaces in the pink city of Jaipur.”
