Sony Artisan Brooke Shaden is a self-portrait artist who photographs herself and becomes the characters of dreams inspired by a childhood of intense imagination and fear. Being the creator and the actor, Brooke controls her darkness and confronts those fears. The video below breaks down one of her shoots and how she creates these surreal images.

Val is a portrait artist and visual storyteller based in the Pacific Northwest. She describes her work as “spooky” and we couldn’t agree more! She’s currently doing a “31 days of Halloween” challenge, where she makes a spooky image every day for the month of October. We love the photo shoot below! Tristan Zhou - @trystanez

Tristan Zhou is a Chinese-American award-winning photographer, videographer and influencer who was born in Tokyo, Japan. Using his Sony Alpha 7R IV, Zhou makes gorgeous images and shares them on TikTok. We love this creative image below, with about a 4-second exposure. Jared VanderMeer - @jared.vandermeer

Photographer and content creator Jared VanderMeer is well-known on TikTok for his creative portraits. He’s particularly good at coming up with creative compositions and sharing them with his audience. VanderMeer’s go-to camera is the Sony Alpha 7 IV and his back ups are the Sony Alpha 7R III, and Sony Alpha 7 III. In the video below, he shows how he made a Harry Potter inspired image. We love his creative use of light! VanderMeer is also great at answering questions in the comments section of his videos to further help others make interesting images. 

Aisha Lee - @aishaleephotography

Aisha Lee is a Rhode Island based photographer who specializes in portraits for couples. However, she too is getting into the spooky spirit and had a witchy photoshoot. We love the moody and dramatic vibe she achieved. And the colored smoke in the building adds another interesting layer to the images.
