Camera

Sony Alpha 7R V: This is my only camera body. The A7R V is the perfect camera for me since all of my shooting is outdoors, whether that be in the city or out in nature. This camera is lightweight and easy to pack into a camera bag and take it wandering around the city or hitting the trails through the mountains, chasing waterfalls, all conditions. And it’s a beast in low light, which is perfect for me because those are my favorite times of day to shoot.

Lenses

Sony 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 G Master: Love the range of this lens. It can isolate details in landscapes, allowing me to compress the foreground and background, creating that sense of depth and scale I’m looking for. What I like shooting most with this lens are moon rises.

Sony 16-35mm f/2.8 G Master: This lens is great for capturing a variety of subjects. I use it a lot when I’m out in nature and want to capture large scenes. When I’m shooting in the city it allows me to capture more of a scene when I don’t have a lot of room to physically maneuver in. The image quality is super sharp and the f/2.8 aperture makes it a very versatile lens in low-light situations.

Sony 24-70mm f/4: This was the first lens I bought at the same time I bought my first Sony camera and I still use it a lot. It’s small and super lightweight. It’s a versatile zoom lens and is great for my landscapes, and also when I want to do some street photography. This lens is very handy for travel.

Accessories

Sony NP-FZ100 Rechargeable Battery: I always carry an extra one of these batteries with me- always good to have a spare.

Peak Design Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod: Compact and lightweight. It’s quick and easy to deploy. I love the locking ring- I never have to worry about my camera slipping out of the plate.

Polar Pro CP Filter: I use this to help bring contrast and vivid, natural color to images. Great for reducing reflections when needed.

Hoya Variable ND Filter: This allows me to achieve slower shutter speeds even in bright conditions. Crucial for creating motion blur in long exposure shots- when I want that silky smooth water, especially waterfalls.

Giottos Rocket Air Blaster: To blow the dust off/out of the camera and lenses.

3 Legged Thing Toolz with Carabiner, Hex Key, Coin Key and Bottle Opener: This is such a handy tool. Great for removing tripod plates, L-brackets, etc. Small and durable.

Birdie Personal Safety Alarm: Always good to have.
